This artwork, titled ‘Origins’, is a modern and abstract take on traditional geographical contour lines. This is a location specific artwork, one that details the topography of Templemore and its surrounding lands. With the famous Devils Bit mountain to the west of Templemore, this was the perfect location for translating 2D contour lines into a 3D topographical steel map.
The final artwork is constructed from 5mm aluminium and sprayed to mimic a geographical contour map, whilst each of the flowing lines represent a 20 metre rise above sea level.

This artwork proudly sits on the main foyer wall at the entrance to Our Lady’s Secondary School in Templemore.
